Business & Commercial Signage

Parker

These Parker signs, by Madman Designs are hanging in Parker lobbies and conference rooms all over the country. Custom made to their exact specifications, They are coated in a beautiful silver vein powder coat. The tops of the lettering are then skimmed off to expose the aluminum surface underneath, and a gloss clear protective coat is put on. They are a beautiful addition to their offices.

Village of Balsam Lake – Canoe Paddle Business Signs

This project was for the unique lakeside village of Balsam Lake, WI. Many of their businesses are off the main street and they wanted some way of directing traffic to these businesses. I worked closely with the village board and turned their canoe paddle idea into a very attractive array of signage to do just that. The signs are made from solid aluminum and powder-coated a brilliant blue that really grabs the attention of passers-by! These signs, like all Madman Designs creations are made to last a lifetime out in the elements.

Pure Focus Salon in Luck, WI

This sign, built for Pure Focus Salon in Luck, WI is a 3-dimensional look sign, designed by Madman Designs to have a unique look in that the letters stand off the background and give the sign a shading/shadowing effect. The letters are cut from a solid piece of aluminum and powder coated, then mounted to the background with stainless steel pins. The sign in the lower picture is mounted by the door to the salon and is a solid piece, machined out of aluminum.

Strandberg Auto – Centuria, WI

This project, for Strandberg Auto in Centuria, WI is similar in design to the Pure Focus Salon sign. The letters are individually cut out from a solid sheet of aluminum and powder coated, then mounted off the background with pins. This is a large-scale 4 X 8 foot sign.

HISDirect

Another example for a commercial door/wall sign. I used a cross-hatched finish on the “HIS” in HISDirect on this sign to separate the letters. The original logo has two different colors.

Residential House & Mailbox Signs

These above, simple but elegant, double-sided mailbox signs are machined from a solid bar of aluminum and threaded on the bottom to mount through the top of the mailbox with screws. Perfect to present to your Homeowner’s Association and spruce up the entire neighborhood!

Custom Commercial Projects

Drive In Restaurant

This rotating root beer mug in Grantsburg, WI is a modern recreation of the original “Frostop” root beer mug that spins at the Drive In Restaurant in Taylors Falls, MN. Not the typical signage that you’d expect from Madman Designs, but it does show off some of our many capabilities. This 8 foot tall mug was 100% designed and built by Madman Designs including the remarkably maintenance free rotating mechanism which was designed to have a minimum number of moving parts.

I’ve also built and installed framework and canvas awnings to extend the drive up canopies at both Drive In locations, as well as rebuilt and mounted the lighted sign on the roof in Grantsburg, WI. The sign was recycled from the post where the mug is spinning now.
